IDPT 19934 READING AND WRITING IN U.S. COLLEGES Students in this course will explore academic writing practices in the U.S. through a Critical Language Awareness framework. The first half of the course will cover prescriptivist approaches to English grammar and syntax and written genres typical in U.S. colleges and their variations. The second half of the course will focus on identifying the values and priorities embodied in linguistic communities in U.S. colleges, including the process approach to writing and academic integrity.
