PHIL 22000. LOGIC AND PHILOSOPHY This course is an introduction to some of the methods used to evaluate arguments. The focus will be on learning three formal logical systems — categorical logic, sentential logic, and predicate logic — and using them to symbolically represent and evaluate arguments. In addition, the course engages with questions and issues related to formal logical systems, such as logical paradoxes and the nature of truth and meaning. [AH]
