MUSC 37000. VOCAL PEDAGOGY Study of the anatomy and physiology of all singing voices. Examination of materials and methods relative to the vocal instrument. Required of all B.M.E., B.M.T. and B.M. Vocal Performance majors.
Through this course you will learn about different approaches to vocal science, teaching voice, styles and repertoire and the physiological processes of vocal sound production. We will look at various topics in voice pedagogy relevant to performers, voice teachers, music therapists, choral conductors and K-12 music educators by discussing and presenting on the different perspectives we bring to the table on these topics. We will experience singing, through interactive participation and peer-teaching.
