ARTS 29905. DIGITAL FABRICATION IN SCULPTURE This class explores the material, formal and conceptual potential of sculpture using new technologies. Students will learn the basics of 3D modeling, rendering, and creating physical objects from digital models using 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and community maker spaces. Assignments will be hands-on in nature, with students modeling and/or capturing data to use in fabrication, assembly, and finishing of material forms. Individualized research, as well as, group presentations, readings, critiques, and discussions will supplement hands-on demonstrations during the course.
