PSYC 40000. TUTORIAL This tutorial stand for the course PSYC23000 Human Neuropsychology. Human neuropsychology
investigates how the brain and its cellular and molecular functions cause
psychological processes like emotions, language, memory, social interaction,
and personality, among others. Human neuropsychology examines brain damage to
draw conclusions about healthy mind-brain relationships. After laying the
foundation of basic psychological and neuroscientific concepts, case studies,
for example, on amnesia, aphasia, concussion, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, split
brain, and stroke, will illustrate the impact of brain damage on the individual,
their social network, and on society. Thought experiments will help envision
life with brain damage and prepare for discussions of power and privilege as
well as accessibility and accommodations.
