COMM 35200. RHETORICAL CRITICISM This course examines the nature and methods of rhetorical criticism, with the goal of teaching students how to write rhetorical criticisms of their own and how to critique the work of others. Topics include cultural (value, myth, fantasy theme) analysis, narrative criticism, generic criticism, rhetorical fieldwork, metaphor criticism, Burkean criticism, and feminist, Critical Race Theory, and neo-colonial approaches to rhetorical analysis. Prerequisite(s): COMM-11100 with Minimum grade of C- and one 200-level COMM course; or permission of instructor.
