COMM 22600. ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATION This course analyzes the form, content, and consequences of communication in organizations. It focuses on the dynamics of communication exchanges and the role of power and privilege in organizational settings. Topics include the structures and processes of organizations, types and functions of organizational communication, power dynamics among organizational members such as those between workers and employers, emotional work versus emotional labor, organizational diversity, corporate cultures, identification, leadership, assimilation, the experience of work, an organizations public image, and ethics in organizational communication.
