EDUC 19905. TEACHING GLOBALLY ENGAGED LEARNERS This course examines multicultural education with a focus on the historical, sociological and philosophical foundations of education and on ways to help school-aged students investigate the world, recognize perspectives other than ones own, communicate ideas, and take action. Students will examine culturally responsive curricula and, as we recognize the value and strength of diversity, be encouraged to reflect and actively participate in the classroom, our community and the world. Lastly, students will consider ways to teach and integrate students whose first language is not English.
