FREN 39903. FRENCH AND FRANCOPHONE FEMINISMS FROM CHRISTINE DE PISAN TO ALICE DIOP In this course, taught in English, we will study feminist and proto-feminist works from French and Francophone artistic, literary, and cultural traditions from the Middle Ages to the present day. Using current scholarship on feminist approaches to cultural studies as a guide, our central lines of inquiry will examine how representations of gender intersect with those of power, race, class, ability, and religion.
